Tutoring is all about accelerating your progress with personalised guidance, strategies, and resources. My role as your A-Level Maths tutor is to support and challenge you so that you can achieve your best.
That said, significant progress doesn’t come from just attending the sessions alone. Tutorials are most effective when combined with consistent independent study. Treat our time together as a supplement to your own practice, aiming to spend roughly two hours reviewing and applying what you learn from each session.
We usually focus on one topic per session. I’ll break it down into its fundamentals, walk through examples, and guide you through targeted practice. Over time, we’ll build up to exam-style questions and deeper problem-solving.
All tutorials are saved and can be accessed at any time to support your revision. You won’t need to take detailed notes during sessions, just have a pen and paper ready for your workings.
Some of the most successful students I’ve worked with shared a few habits:
• Arrive on time, ready to engage
• Complete worksheets and quizzes between sessions
• Bring questions or topics from their independent study
• Ask for help or clarification when they need it
Small, consistent actions like these can make a big difference over time.
Each tutorial lasts 55 minutes to give us time to wrap up properly, as I often have another student scheduled immediately afterwards. I use the remaining time to set follow-up materials and share feedback with parents on tutorial and homework engagement.
To aid long-term progress, I only offer weekly slots. Consistency is key, and research shows that high-intensity 1:1 tuition leads to the strongest outcomes. Fortnightly or ad-hoc sessions tend not to provide enough continuity for real progress.
My rate is set competitively to reflect my extensive experience and the high-quality, comprehensive support I provide. My fee is fixed throughout the academic year, including high-demand exam periods. To ensure fairness and consistency for my clients, I do not offer discounts or negotiate rates.
