I will reply to messages as soon as I can, but please allow a few hours if I am currently teaching or away from my desk.
My goal is to support and challenge you to achieve your best. We typically focus on one topic per session, building from fundamentals up to exam-style problem-solving. All tutorials are saved for your revision, so you only need a pen and paper for your workings and can focus entirely on the lesson.
While our sessions lay the foundation, long-term retention requires consistent independent practice. I ask students to aim for approximately two hours of independent study between sessions using my two-part homework system:
• Targeted Worksheets: To solidify methods and highlight hidden gaps.
• Mixed Quizzes: Low-stakes weekly quizzes to build long-term retention and exam readiness.
It is fantastic when students aim high. However, I want to be transparent: making a significant grade jump is a substantial challenge that will require genuine dedication and immense effort on the student's part. While I cannot guarantee a specific final grade, we will focus on strengthening key areas, refining exam technique, and building confidence so you are in the strongest possible position for exam day.
Lessons run for 55 minutes, allowing me a 5-minute window to wrap up the session, set follow-up tasks, and update parents with feedback before my next student. I exclusively offer weekly slots, as regular, consistent tuition leads to the strongest outcomes. Ad hoc or fortnightly sessions generally do not provide enough continuity.
To ensure fairness for all clients, my fee is fixed year-round, and I do not offer discounts. This reflects my extensive experience and the high-quality, comprehensive support I provide.
When booking recurring lessons, PMT runs a card authorisation 72 hours before each session, and payment is taken automatically as each individual lesson occurs. More info: https://support.pmt.education/en/articles/9911874
I prepare materials in advance and reserve your slot exclusively for you. Therefore, I operate a standard 24-hour cancellation and reschedule policy:
• 24+ hours' notice → No charge (we can cancel or find a new time).
• Less than 24 hours' notice → 100% fee.
Exceptions can be made for genuine emergencies; please let me know as early as possible so we can try to reschedule within the same week.
Please note that tutorials cannot be extended or refunded for lateness, and repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in the release of your weekly slot.
• Securing a Slot: Slots can only be reserved by booking directly through the PMT system. Until booked, the time remains open to other students. To guarantee your weekly time slot, I strongly encourage booking recurring tutorials for each term block (Sept-Dec, Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun) in advance.
• Communication: Per PMT policy, all communication must remain on PMT (no phone numbers or emails).

To ensure we are a great fit, please reply with a quick introduction (if you haven't already) covering:
• The student’s name, exam board, course, current grade, and goals.
• (Further Maths only): Which modules are you studying?
• Any topics you're currently finding challenging (we can prioritise these in our first sessions).
• Your preferred days and times for our weekly sessions.
Once I review this, we can arrange a standalone introductory lesson. As PMT does not permit free trials, this is charged at my standard rate, but this allows you to experience my teaching style firsthand before deciding on weekly sessions.
Parents: Before booking, I highly recommend having an open conversation with your child to ensure they are ready to commit to the independent work required.
By booking our first session, you confirm that you have read and agree to proceed with the guidelines above.
